Kenneth L. Brick Kenneth L. Brick
(February 14, 1955 - February 2, 2014)

U.S. Veteran Brick, Kenneth, L. age 58 of Waconia passed away on Sunday February 2, 2014 in Waconia.

Mass of Christian Burial Thursday February 6, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church (41 East 1st Street), Waconia with Father Bennet Tran as Celebrant of the Mass. Visitation Wednesday 5-7 P.M. at the Johnson Funeral Home (141 East 1st Street), Waconia and 1 hour prior to the Mass at church; interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Kenneth was born on February 14, 1955 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma the son of Norbert and Winifred (Janish) Brick. On October 23, 1987 Kenneth was united in marriage to Cynthia M. Mohnen at Pax Christi Catholic Church in Rochester.

Ken was an avid reader. He would read 5-10 books a week and was known to read the same book 5-6 times. He was an amazing cook and knew how to grill a mean burger, which he would never divulge the secret ingredient to; he also made great ribs and amazing fried rice.

Ken loved spending time with Andrew and his brothers outdoors, whether they were hunting or sitting around the bonfire conversing. Ken also enjoyed time alone on their property near Sauk Centre, where he worked on his deer stand and cut new trails.

Ken loved traveling with his family and had the goal of having Andrew visit all 50 states before graduating from High School, a goal they easily achieved. They were making their way around the world to visit all 7 continents and are currently missing only two, South America and Antarctica.

Ken spoke fluent Spanish, which made traveling with him entertaining, as he always loved to strike up conversation and joke with the locals. Ken made traveling with him a breeze as he was a great “travel guide” and he would plan everyday down to the last detail. All you needed to do was show up!

Cindy and Ken were married for 26 years. He was always trying to please and take care of her. He even went along with dance lessons despite the fact that he hated dancing. He was always a good sport and assisted Cindy on many of her “craft” projects. He was a devoted son and was always intentional in spending time with his mother. He was even gracious with his time and skills when it came to helping his in-laws in South Dakota.

Ken was an amazing father, husband, son, brother, and uncle. He will be deeply missed by all of us.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his father Norbert Brick; brother Gregory Brick.
