Marilyn E. Udell

Udell, Marilyn E. (Swanson) (Zimmerman) Age 75 of Young America passed away Tuesday. Survived by her loving family: husband Stephen. Children and spouses Michael Zimmerman, Janice and Ken Meyer, Jeff Udell, Brian and Nadine Udell, Barry Udell, Stephanie and Dale Dahl, Jim Stai, Linda Scott. 9 Grandchildren, 10 Great-grandchildren. Memorial mass of Christian Burial Friday February 6, 2009 @ 11:00 A.M. at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Cologne with visitation 2 hours prior to the mass. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers.

Udell, Marilyn Elizabeth (Swanson) age 75 of Young America passed away onTuesday January 27, 2009 at her home in Young America after a courageous 4 year battle with lung cancer. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial held on Friday February 6, 2009 11:00 A.M. at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Cologne with Father Martin Shallbetter as Celebrant of the Mass. Visitation held 2 hours prior to the Mass at church.

Marilyn was born on September 25, 1933 in Cologne, MN the daughter of Clark F. and Clara C. (Schug) Swanson. Marilyn was united in marriage to Stephen M. Udell on August 6, 1969 in Newport, Rhode Island.

Marilyn was a loving wife, grandma and great-grandma. She enjoyed attending the Stiftungsfest Festival in Young America. Some of Marilyn’s enjoyments were reading, traveling, playing cards and being with family and friends. For the last 15 years Marilyn spent Monday Nights with her good friend Carol Stender. Marilyn cherished visiting with her family all over the country. Marilyn treasured her time she spent with her dear friends Fran Davis from Crooked River Ranch in Oregon and Sandi Kaliher from Eden Prairie. One of her greatest treats was going out to eat and trying different restaurants.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her daughter Penny Stai. Parents Clark and Clara Swanson, brother and sister-in-law Roger and Joanne Swanson.

Marilyn is survived by her loving family: Husband Stephen; Children and spouses Michael Zimmerman of Santa Ana, CA, Janice and Ken Meyer of Young America, Jeff Udell of Mesa, Arizona, Brian and Nadine Udell of Brandon, Florida, Barry Udell of Golden, Colorado, Stephanie and Dale Dahl of Lester Prairie, Jim Stai of Carver, Linda Scott of Bradenton, Florida; Grandchildren Christina Udell, Jennifer Udell, Guy Masters, Adam Udell, Ashley Udell, Aleija Robson, Aaron Stai, Christopher Stai, Blake Dahl; 10 Great-grandchildren; Brother and sister-in-law Tom and Judy Swanson of Minot, North Dakota; nephews and wife Mick and Barb Swanson of Cologne, Terry Swanson of Cologne, Joe Swanson of Minneapolis and niece and husband Teal and Erik Myre of Sawyer, ND.
