Irene A Shambour 1933 - 2013

Irene A. Shambour, age 79 of Cologne, MN passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.

Mass of Christian Burial held Monday, February 11, 2013 – 1:30 pm at St Bernard Catholic Church with Father Gregory Abbott as Celebrant of the Mass; visitation with reviewal Sunday February 10, 2013, 2:00 – 6:00 pm Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia and at the church in Cologne with no reviewal 1 hour prior to the Mass; Prayer service 5:30 P.M. Sunday evening; interment in the church cemetery.

Irene was born on September 13, 1933 in Jordan, MN the daughter of Phillip and Margaret (Zaun) Stocker. She was baptized and confirmed at St John’s Catholic Church in Jordan and on July 18, 1953, she was united in marriage to Bernie W. Shambour in Turlock, California.

Irene shared many interests and hobbies with Bernie, her husband; including gardening, fishing, motorcycle trips and camping, classic car shows, occasional trips to the casino, and their seasonal home in Sarasota., Florida. Irene enjoyed her grandchildren and her family pets’, she had a special relationship with each of them.

Irene was a member of St Bernard Catholic Church in Cologne. She loved her family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Irene is preceded in death by grandchildren Chelsey and Phillip Shambour, father and mother Phillip and Margaret Stocker, brothers Elmer, Ralph, Melvin Stocker and sisters Theresa Huckenpoehler and Marcella Johnson; Brother-in-law Jack Shambour.

Irene is survived by her loving family, husband Bernie and children Lin Baldwin of Minnetonka, Pat Shambour of Carver, Bernie (Karen) Shambour of Cologne, and Mark Shambour of Sarasota, Florida; granddaughter Rebecca Shambour and fiance’ Cole Pedraja, grandsons Luke and Lance Baldwin of Arcata, CA; sisters Rosalia (Emanuel) Kes of Chaska, Sister Josephine Stocker of Minneapolis, and brother Willie (Ruth) Stocker of Jordan; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Leonard and Eleanore Shambour of New Prague, Jane Shambour of Florida; nieces, nephews, and many friends and relatives.

Urn bearers are the grandchildren; Rebecca, Lance, and Luke.
